Natural zeolite specific properties allow its use in various filtration processes. It acts as an excellent filtration and sorption material – it adsorbs dioxins, heavy metals, etc.

 

Natural zeolite is an adsorbent of smell and harmful substances in natural water bodies intended for swimming, where it provides for purity and quality of water which contacts skin. It serves for purification and preparation of drinking water. Also, natural zeolite is employed in waste water purification in which case it  maintains an increased biological activity of the water treatment process.

 

Apart from water purification, zeolite is of great importance for air and gas filtration, creation of filtration barriers in waste dump construction, thus preventing soil contamination. Natural zeolite reduces the adverse effect caused by the process of making asphalt pavement, it improves ecological conditions in livestock buildings, and maintains the biological process that takes place in the course of biogas production.

Dosage and recommended fractions in cleansing the livestock barns

  • Poultry house litter: saw-dust / zeolite combination in proportion of 75:25
  • Milking herd:  application site - stall, bedding (consolidated surface, it shoud not be a slatted-floor stall): 500 g / week / milk animal
  • Horses: 1 kg/m2 a week
  • Deep litters (swines, broilers, rabbits): 1 kg/m2 a week
  • Litters for other animals (cattle, swines): by scattering on the floor: 1 kg/m2 of the floor surface
  • In broiler battening (i.e. replacement of the litter following the end of the battening cycle of 28 or 40 days) zeolite is usually applied only before putting the litter in place in the paultry room in the dosage of 2 kg/м2. Usually no additional scattering is applied   during the battening period, it is used just near the feeders and waterers to minimize disturbances during the battening time
